This series of studies is structured to give the participants a comprehensive understanding of the scope of the work. Lectures cover the theoretical aspects of Eidetic Imagery. Demonstration, individual practice of methods, and group discussion provide practical experience. Upon completion of the program one will:

Year One

Seminar I – Comprehensive Orientation:
Reading Assignment: Ahsen’s Image Psychology by Judith Hochman, Ph.D. and Image & Word by Judith Hochman, Ph.D. How to see an Eidetic. Basic ISM structure (Image, Soma, Meaning). Image progression. How the Eidetic is different from memory and other images. Image and mind-body connection. Left/Right hemispheric imagery. Image as a filter.

Seminar II – Eidetic Parents Test:
Reading Assignment: Eidetic Parents Test and Analysis by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D., pp. 34-110; Eidetic Parents Test Desk Volume by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D. Composing the symptom. Test analysis. Consciousness-Imagery Gap. The Eidetic Parents Test (EPT) combines the qualities of a clinical test, an interview, and a self-analysis procedure in a single clinical mode. The EPT provides a spontaneous setting in which developmental facts emerge and evolve in the most natural manner. The eidetic parents’ images appear to wield enormous control over our minds as long as we remain unconscious of them and do not successfully grow out of their developmental influence. The EPT portrays the parents in their true developmental light, brings thematic issues quickly to the surface, and enables us to experientially recognize the critical link between the difficulties in our developmental past and our problems of today.

Seminar III – Principles and Techniques:
Reading Assignment: Basic Concepts in Eidetic Psychotherapy by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D., pp. 119-181; Psycheye by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D., pp. 170-179. Underlying principles of Eidetic methodology. Magicality of images. Biolatency. Various image techniques. Personality multiples. Emanations.

Seminar IV – Age Projection Test:
Reading Assignment: Age Projection Test by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D.; Brief Image Therapy by Judith Hochman, Ph.D.; Psycheye by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D., pp. 242-263. Seeing the self-image in the past and targeting the exact negative issues. Symptom oscillation. Eidetic brief treatment approach. Eidetic group process. Co-consciousness. Overview of concepts.

Year Two

Seminar I – Comprehensive Overview of Ahsen’s Image Psychology:
Reading Assignment: Ahsen’s Image Psychology by Judith Hochman, Ph.D. Various houses. Threshold of the house. Neighborhood. Moving from the developmental to the mythic in the parents and the self.

Seminar II – Ahsen's Trauma Model:
Reading Assignment: Imagery Treatment of Phobias, Anxiety States, and Other Symptom Complexes by Anna T. Dolan, M.D. The Eidetic approach to trauma concentrates directly on the symptom itself and traces its origin to important past events. By deciphering the negative experience, the underlying capacity of a positive experience is brought to the forefront of the mind, revealing the point of harmony and integration.

Seminar III – Altered States of Consciousness:
Reading Assignment: New Treatment of Alcohol and Drug Abuse by Toni Nixon, Ed.D. Hypnagogic and Hypnopompic images. Expectation High. Imagery treatment of alcohol and drug abuse.

Successful recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, according to a leading expert, depends on hope, absolution and new sources of self-esteem. The core of Ahsen’s treatment is based on the reinstatement of hope and enthusiasm through the recovery of the “natural high” found in the Eidetic.

Seminar IV – Sexuality and the Self:
Reading Assignment: Trojan Horse by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D., pp. 145-170; Imagery and Sociology by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D., pp. 63-97; Rhea Complex by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D.; Aphrodite by Akhter Ahsen, Ph.D. Images of sociology and literary images of consciousness. Reintegration of sexuality and sensuality to the self.

The mind-body-spirit, the Eidos, is emotional and sensual. Sensuality in essence is within us by Nature. By uncovering layers of images both in our own personal development, and in our society and culture, we can reintegrate our sexuality with our natural sensuality and come back to our self.

Year Three

Supervision and personal work. Specialized Individual Projects.
